Dr. Nadra Assaf, a distinguished figure in the world of dance research, has devoted her career to exploring the intersections of dance, culture, and education.
Dr. Assaf’s research is notably focused on the Lebanese dance scene, where she examines how traditional and contemporary dance forms reflect and shape Lebanese identity and societal norms. Her work extends to advocating for dance as a powerful educational tool, promoting its integration into academic curricula to foster cultural awareness, creativity, and physical well-being among students.
Through her co-founding of the Al-Sarab Alternative Dance School and her pivotal role in international dance festivals and conferences, Dr. Assaf has significantly contributed to elevating the status of dance education and research both locally in Lebanon and globally.
